Ambra is currently studio director at Interactive Institute Swedish ICT in Umeå, Sweden and senior lecturer (universitetslektor) at the School of Architecture of the University of Umeå, where she is also equal opportunities representative.

Interactive Institute in Umeå is located within the premises of Sliperiet and it contributes to its development.

She closely collaborates with the Designing Quality in Interaction group of the Eindhoven University of Technology. She graduated with honors in Architecture in April 2003 at the University of Florence (Italy) and defended her doctoral thesis in december 2011 at the Eindhoven University of Technology, Department of Industrial Design, Designing Quality in Interaction Group, where she worked from 2007 to the beginning of 2012. During her research she explored the field of ethics in design for intelligent products and systems, applying processes that focus on the sharing of making in multicultural environments and has contributed to the foundation of the Rights through Making approach. From 2007 to 2011 I have been a research fellow at the University of Florence, Department of Technologies of Architecture and Design “P. Spadolini”
