Stefania Milan (stefaniamilan.net) is a researcher, writer and activist curious about the interplay between technology and activism. She enjoys experimenting with digital and action-oriented research methods, and finding ways to bridge research with policy and action. Currently, she is Assistant Professor of New Media and Digital Culture at the University of Amsterdam, where she explores the politics of big data. Prior she worked at the Citizen Lab, University of Toronto. She is the author of ‘Social Movements and Their Technologies: Wiring Social Change’ (Palgrave Macmillan, 2013) and co-author of ‘Media/Society’ (Sage, 2011). Stefania also advocates for digital rights within the NonCommercial Users Constituency of ICANN.
