Andrew Lamb
Advisor

Andrew is an active advisor to Field Ready, which uses disruptive technologies such as 3D printing to transform disaster relief supply chains.

Andrew works for the global engineering body the World Federation of Engineering Organisations (on initiatives such as engineering capacity building in Africa), for the World Bank (on local government open data in Tanzania); and for the 'Global Dimension in Engineering Education' project in Europe (on supporting academics).

He was the first staff Chief Executive of Engineers Without Borders UK until summer 2013 where he made significant progress in the organisation's scope and effectiveness, including a much stronger focus on engineering education and developing its 'massive small change' philosophy. He is a director of the Appropedia Foundation which runs the www.appropedia.org website - a sustainability wiki. He is a trustee of disaster relief training organisation RedR UK and of the Humanitarian Centre in Cambridge, which convenes partnerships to tackle the root causes of poverty. He was the technical editor of the world's first global report on engineering, the UNESCO Engineering Report, which focused on opportunities and challenges for development. Among Andrew’s current interests is the use of Lego to promote generational change in sub-Saharan Africa, and developing the ‘massive small change’ concept for wider use across society.
