#FASHIONTECH BERLIN conference takes place on January 20, 2015.

Parallel to the coming Berlin Fashion Week, our event also centers on fashion, but with a special re:publica spin: This time it’s all about Wearables and other innovations from where fashion and technology meet. On January 20, 2015, we will organize the first #FASHIONTECH BERLIN in collaboration with the PREMIUM International Trade Show and SEEK Contemporary Fashion Trade Show. The one-day conference is being held as part of SEEK in the Glashaus at Berlin Arena.

The programme reflects the broad range of topics and ideas surrounding fashion, tech and wearables, and much more: The event will showcase projects and products that merge design and technology. Apart from innovative materials and methods, it will also focus on new professional settings and business models, such as Co-Creating, and present new distribution channels and platforms in terms of digital marketing. You can expect talks and lectures from trade experts, as well as product presentations – and of course the most fascinating items will be shown directly in the exhibition.

Highlights from the programme include: A keynote held by Fabian Hemmert from the Design Research Lab at Universität der Künste Berlin; fashion designer Phoebe Heess (adidas & Black Current) speaking about Innovation Wear; Viktoria Pawlik from Berlin presenting her hackerspace Electronic + Textile Institute; Ivonne Tesch and Jessica Hannan from the fashion-and-tech hub CODE IS THE NEW BLACK finding “Tech Solutions for Fashion”; Konrad Lauten on the issue of Crowdfunding, and Anita Heiberg on Crowdsourcing in the fashion industry; Cecilia Palmer’s lecture on “Sustainable, Open Source Fashion & Upcycling”; and Dan Maravilla explaining “What you can learn on the way from fashion label to tech company”. And the Algaemy project is decidedly hands-on: Essi Johanna Glomb and Rasa Weber will demonstrate sustainable colouring technologies.
