Global Start-up Scenes and the Role of Hubs in Europa, Asia, Africa and Latin America

Last year the AfriLabs Network met for the first time at re:publica – this year they are back, with over 30% increase in membership since 2013. Innovation hubs in Africa are still booming, local mobile app markets, start-up networks and support structures are developing. How do other tech hubs view the African market, and what are the hubs of digital innovation is Asia and Latin America? Are we in the midst of a new digital economy bubble or are digital tech start-ups the economic drivers they are promising to be? This session is going to be a trip around the world, from Silicon Alley to Silicon Savannah in 30 hubs.
