Business & Innovation

Short thesis:

Makerspaces are not only about building machines, creating prototypes, and digital fabrication. They are mainly about building communities that are sensitive to the local problems and could contribute efficiently to the industrial revolution. Let's dream of a makerspace that has a multi-sided business model that is open, profitable, community-driven and sustainable.

Description:

Are you part of a makerspace? A hackerspace? Or any other space that is community driven? Do you believe in the maker movement? And concerned with its sustainability?

*PEOPLE VS. MACHINES!* In this workshop, we will work together on building our dream sustainable makerspace. Makerspaces are not only concerned with setting up digital fabrication spaces nor constructing prototyping workshops. It's mainly about building a self-organized community of action-oriented makers that will be efficiently able to contribute in their societies.

*MAKERS VS. ENTREPRENEURS!* Moreover, we will discuss how makerspaces could really contribute to the industrial revolution instead of staying at the child prototyping mode. We need a dynamic mature environment where; makers are transforming their prototypes into meaningful projects in the market. Makerspaces are being transformed into entrepreneurship-making spaces.

Let's dream of a makerspace that has a multi-sided business model that is open, profitable, community-driven and sustainable.
