Business & Innovation

Short thesis:

In this session, the initiators of the AfricaHackTrip, GeeksGoneGlobal and the FounderBus will compare their experiences related to the synergies of travel and innovation, and discuss the role that travel-based learning initiatives have in the cross-polenization of the global innovation ecosystem.

Description:

The AfricaHackTrip, GeeksGoneGlobal and the FounderBus are three initiatives from Europe and the USA that visited several African countries in 2013. They met local innovators and tech startups, started an exchange across the continents and collaboration on future projects.

What these initiatives have in common, is that they recognized a necessity to include travel and cross border face to face collaboration and interactions between innovators as a necessary component for innovation.

In this session, the initiators will compare their experiences related to the synergies of travel and innovation, and discuss the role that travel-based learning initiatives have in the cross-polenization of the global innovation ecosystem.

This session is part of the GLOBAL INNOVATION GATHERING programme.
