Short thesis: 

African HubCity initiative is a model of an alternative and inclusive urbanization; the ground of experiment of which is a district of Lomé (capital of Togo/ West Africa). One of the Founders of the WoeLab will introduce the concept of working with LowHighTech, local expertise, in order to create projects, technooy and change adapted to specific African configurations and owned by the local communities.

Description: 

This session will give an example of how to think, design and implement locally for Africa - through the mobilization of opensource technologies, BarCamps, and FabLabs: In 2012 the first Barcamp was held in Lome (Togo), an ArchiCamp.The theme was installation of coworking spaces in the African context and possible role in urban regeneration. This "non-conference" first of its kind dedicated to the issues of living environment, produced the meeting of students, professional architects, designers, techies, bloggers, hackers, and sharing activists from around the world... and helped to build the vision 'African Hub-Cities' :
