Michela Magas is an innovation catalyst who bridges the worlds of science and art, design and technology, and academic research and industry, with a track record of 20 years of innovation. With a background of design innovation for Apple, Nike and Nokia, she founded the Music Tech Fest – the global festival of music ideas which pulls the entire music tech ecosystem under one roof – from the music industry and media, to artists, performers, developers, researchers and hackers. In 2014, the festival was held in Wellington, Boston, London, Berlin and Paris. Michela directed the roadmap the future of music tech in Europe, in conjunction with seven of the top music technology research centres, and is on the Advisory Board of the European Commission’s Horizon2020 programme, both at meta level and more specifically on music tech, the creative industries and future IoT business models.
