Pursuing expertise in design, communications and marketing, Denise works for the Open Data Lab Jakarta (a project of the Web Foundation) building, strengthening and implementing communications and engagement strategies. Denise has roots in information design and digital media, a background thoroughly used as she worked several years in the advertising and creative industry. Prior to jumping to the NGO sector, she spent time in the games industry studying and developing educational and social games for various platforms, as well as the successful community campaigns and public engagement surrounding these products. When not engaged with the more 'serious' work, Denise prides herself in her fiction-writing skills and finds herself occupied with her attempt to one day become a polyglot.
