Mahsa Alimardani is an Iranian-Canadian Internet researcher based in Amsterdam. She's the current Persian Editor for Global Voices, and co-director of Iran Voices. Her research and writing has been covered in international media including the Washington Post, Slate, Global Post, Quartz, and the Huffington Post. Her research interests lie in Iranian Internet policies, including censorship and surveillance in addition to the effects of digital media inside of Iran. She holds a Honours Bachelor in Political Science from the University of Toronto, and is currently completing her Masters degree in New Media and Digital Culture at the University of Amsterdam's Digital Methods Institute.
