Katrin Bornemann holds a ph.d in media and communication science. She worked for the GIZ, the USAID, the DWA, Universities, and NGOs in the sector of information communication technology for development and media. From 2011 until 2014 she managed a GIZ innovative meassure dealing with the usage of ICT to promote transparency, active e-citizenship, and comunal management. Through social media and an e-Map, citizens were invited to participate in the public budget planing of their communities in the Balkans. Now, she is working for the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development as ICT4D officer. Her current project is to design the "Ministry's Digital Agenda for Development". Her dream would be to consolidate an international "Bill of Digital Rights".
